Candidiasis treatment usually relies on the severity of the condition of your infection. If your infection is complicated and has reached the point of you endangering your health, your doctor will usually recommend a therapy that will try to reduce the risks of complications due to the infection.

On the contrary, simple infections can be treated easily with over-the-counter ointments and creams or short course therapies to reduce and eventually get rid of this infection.

How To Prevent Yeast Infection

As prevention is the best cure, there are home remedies and some dos and don’ts you can try out to prevent or reduce the risk of having candidiasis:

  • When you are infected, try applying tea tree oil cream or using vinegar for douching
  • Refrain from douching or the act of mixing and using fluid to clean your vagina. Though it may look like cleaning, it actually increases the risk of having vaginal infection.
  • For the women, use unscented body cares such as pads, tampons, hygiene sprays instead
  • Wear clothes of natural fabrics such as cotton.
  • Avoid wearing tight clothes and underwear.
  • Refrain from taking hot baths.
  • Try to stay dry as much as possible and change clothes when necessary especially after a sweaty exercise
