Alli and FDA Approved Weight Loss Pills

fda approved weight loss pills alliFDA approved weight loss pills have ORLISTAT as their main ingredient but unfortunately, they have a few side effects which are rather embarrassing. Alli is probably the first and only FDA approved over the counter weight loss pill. It is meant to reduce fat absorption in the body because of its main ingredient; unburned calories are stored as fat so this is where Alli comes into play. But despite its approval with the FDA or Food and Drug Administration, a lot of people still ask:

  1. Does it really work?
  2. Are there better alternatives?
  3. What are the cons and side effects?

Do FDA Approved Weight Loss Pills Work?

Yes, Alli does work and it can promote weight loss effectively. It also reduces blood pressure and Alli also has some great references to keep your food intake in check, even when you out of the house. It also provides some great tools to help you prevent your cravings and it’s got a great online community to help you throughout your journey.

Are there better alternatives?

Alli is a very costly diet product since they cost around $50 for the starter pack and $70 for the refills. While there’s still no testimony as to how much weight is lost when taking Alli, exercise and a healthy diet are still the cheapest and better alternative. By the way, check out Dan’s video; it’s got the most awesome weight loss exercises and fitness plan that you shouldn’t miss.

Disadvantages of FDA Approved Weight Loss Pills Like Alli

Like any drug, Alli still retains its side effects which are embarrassing for some. These side effects include:

  • 25% of dietary fat is only blocked from absorption
  • Not meant for those trying to lose a few pounds because they’re only meant for the obese.
  • Very expensive product. It can cost you $50 for the starter and $70 for refills.
  • Induces uncomfortable bowel movements
  • No long term side effects discovered because it’s a new product

Just because they’re the only FDA approved weight loss pills doesn’t guarantee long term weight loss; even though studies have proven that the weight lost by taking Alli is moderate. I am not stopping you from trying Alli though; if you have the cash and can adjust to the side effects, you can make Alli work for you. Weight Loss Solutions – Diet Pills and Supplements

weight loss solutions supplementsWeight reduction has always been man’s greatest challenge and now with the promises of products with “lose those pounds in 7 days” labels on them; more and more people are purchasing these “miraculous” dietary pills and supplements for weight loss solutions. I mean, who wouldn’t? It’s supposed to be a “guaranteed” weight loss solution, right? Have you ever thought of what actually happens to your body when you take these supplements?

Weight Loss Solutions and Hidden Promises

Dietary supplements are harmful to your body because of their hazardous effects to our system, especially our brains. Did you know that diet medication you’re purchasing over the counter contains 2 or 3 times the dose of heart medications? Dietary supplements with these ingredients have been known to cause stroke and heart attack to young adults everywhere. I am going to point out 3 common ingredients in diet medications that are in the market today that have significant fat burning and weight loss solutions but have their uglier downsides:

Chromium

GOOD: Chromium is a natural weight loss solution and is quite popular among the weight loss products in the market today. Chromium can stimulate an increase in calorie burn and muscle gain while decreasing your appetite.

BAD: Chromium, as a dietary supplement, still needs a lot of scientific and medical testing to fully measure its efficiency in inducing weight loss.

Alli

GOOD: Alli is like an over-the-counter counterpart of the popular weight loss medicine, Orlistat and Alli induces weight loss through reduction of fat absorption; this product is popular for those who can’t “sweat” the fat off. FDA is still investigating Alli’s effect on the Liver;

BAD: While reduction in fat absorbing might be good, it can also reduce the absorption of fat soluble vitamins like Vitamins A,D,E and K which are practically important for skin care, blood clotting and even calcium absorption.

Bitter Orange/Ephedra/Ma Huang

GOOD: This product has been circulating the market for years now; this Chinese medicine has been said to increase your metabolism and decrease your appetite. Further studies have shown that Ephedra doesn’t come without side effects.

BAD: Ma Huang/Ephedra falls under the potentially unsafe category; according to FDA’s list of diet products. A lot of hospitals have reported that patients that have taken Ephedra experienced side effects like addiction, insomnia, chest pains, stroke and even death. FDA also considered that Ephedra has insufficient weight loss results for it to be considered as effective.

Make the Right Choices with Weight Loss Solutions!

Now that you know the good and bad effects of the more popular dietary supplements, it’s a better investment for you and your body to avoid these products.
