A rapid weight loss diet that promises weight loss in a short time can either destroy your system because of nutrient and essential vitamin deprivation or cause you to gain your lost weight back faster.
Rapid Weight Loss Diet – More Harm Than Help
- The Master Cleanse diet – This is also known as the lemonade diet endorsed by Beyonce. Starvation is a better term than diet since you’re going to be eating nothing but lemon juice, cayenne pepper, water and even maple syrup. The real danger here is you’re ONLY STARVING yourself and what happens to our body when we starve is that they automatically convert calories into fat and store it. Yeah, eating all that syrup is going to get you fat and loaded with sugar. - VLCD or Very Low Calorie diet – This diet actually works with studies to prove it. The problem here is that this diet is being sold to people who just want to drop a few pounds but in reality the VLCD is a diet for MORBIDLY obese people. By eating so little, you expose yourself to getting diarrhea, constipation, nausea and fatigue. Popular examples of VLCDs are “Cabbage soup diet” and “Cambridge diet”.
- Ephedra and Hoodia supplements – Avoid dietary products that have HOODIA or EPHEDRA in their ingredients. These dietary ingredients are more harmful than helpful because each of them will have different side effects while sharing the same side effects at the same time like:
c. liver and/or kidney damage
d. palpitations or rapid heart beating
e. decrease in appetite
f. increase in blood pressure

A rapid weight loss diet is never meant for anyone to use unless prescribed by a certified nutritionist or a dietician. When your dietician doesn’t recommend one to you, then don’t do it.
